07:53 pm - our school went on lockdown today! apparently some guy tried to steal pizza from a dining hall with a "handgun" (lmfao). it was probably the same douchebag who tried to rob the poker game a few weeks ago.
lockdown means: 1. there are helicopters 2. there's a few more cops than usual 3. about 1/3 of the students don't show up for class. your teachers all have class anyway.
radical!

07:07 am - love the sinner, hate the legos "These negotiations gave rise to heated conflict and to insightful conversation. Into their coffee shops and houses, the children were building their assumptions about ownership and the social power it conveys—assumptions that mirrored those of a class-based, capitalist society—a society that we teachers believe to be unjust and oppressive. As we watched the children build, we became increasingly concerned."

11:32 am - Cops are dicks. There's a car outside with a sign in the window "I can't get my parking permit renewed because of computer problems at the main office. PLEASE do not ticket." Something like that. Anyway, the car's always fucking there, it's not like it just showed up with that sign.
Guess what car got a ticket? I mean yeah, they can probably get it canceled, but the Stony Brook administration is a mess of red tape and evil. Dealing with it sux.
